About The Position
Join our team as a Substitute Floater Food Service Worker/Cook and help make a difference in students' lives by preparing and serving fresh, chef-crafted meals across multiple school districts. This position supports four school districts and requires flexibility to fill in for call-outs or short-term coverage. You'll be part of a team of professionals dedicated to providing nutritious, high-quality meals in a safe and positive environment. Requirements
- Previous cooking experience required (school, restaurant, or institutional setting preferred)
- ServSafe Certification or valid Food Handler's License required
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic and make accurate change
- Dependable, adaptable, and comfortable working in different school environments
- Self-starter who can work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation requirements
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check
Nice To Haves
- Food service or customer service experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and food safety standards
- Assist with setup, service, and cleanup of food service areas
- Follow portioning, presentation, and temperature guidelines
- Ensure condiments, utensils, and serving areas are properly stocked and organized
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and service area
- Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and teamwork in all interactions
- Perform other duties as assigned by the leadership team
