About The Position

Brynmor will open its first site in Lorton, VA at Liberty Market in the fall of 2023. Substitute Educators will work as a team with the Early Childhood Educator Team Leads, Educators and Educator Apprentices. Substitute Educators will be called in as much advance notice as possible to consider filling in for a short- or long-term absence. Substitute Educators are either contingent employees working fewer than 16 hours per week on an as needed basis or a short-term employee who is hired on a temporary basis. This position is not eligible for benefits. Our Substitute Educators will be responsible for the daily health, safety, well-being, development and learning of young children in their care. They will work as a collaborative team to ensure the experiences young children are having at Brynmor optimize their health, development and learning. These individuals will see themselves as proactive partners with families—actively communicating about child experiences, their observations and listening and learning from families about their aspirations and concerns for their children.

Requirements

Minimum high school diploma.

Nice To Haves

Child Development Associate (CDA) or associates degree planned or in process is preferred.
Preferred experience in working in a NAEYC Accredited early education program and/or significant experience working in early childhood education center.
Familiarity with COR Advantage Assessment and Brightwheel childcare management is welcomed.
Familiarity with Reggio Emilia approaches and practices is welcomed.
Fluency in multiple languages is welcomed.
