About The Position

All substitute custodial applicants must be 18 years of age or older, possess a high school diploma or equivalent and submit to a background screening.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Cleaning school building interiors and facilities
• Maintaining school grounds
• Sweeping, stripping, buffing, waxing or dust mopping assigned areas
• Cleaning carpets
• Removing trash from buildings
• Scrubbing and cleaning toilets including mirrors, wash basins, urinals, commodes, etc.
• Filling tissue, towel and soap dispensers
• Dusting furniture, walls, windowsills and other woodwork
• Cleaning windows
• Sanitizing and cleaning drinking fountains
• Mowing grass, weed eating, removing leaves
• Picking up paper and trash
• Checking fire extinguishers, emergency lights and exit lights on a regular basis
• Replacing bulbs in light fixtures
• Hauling books and paper with hand truck
• Moving furniture
• Changing combination locks
• Cleaning up spills and sanitizing areas following incidents involving bodily injuries
• Reporting any mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc. problem to the Head Custodian or principal
• Performing related tasks as required.
