About The Position

The Substitute Cook position is responsible for supporting the nutrition services within Marion County Schools. This role involves various duties related to meal preparation and service, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. The Substitute Cook will work closely with the cafeteria manager and report directly to the school principal and the Coordinator of Child Nutrition.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the cafeteria manager at the school
  • Order for program
  • Prepare and serve meal
  • Clean up including kitchen, dishes, wipe tables, and take out trash
  • Maintain HACPP procedures
  • Record temperatures, etc.
  • Complete production records
  • Other duties as assigned
