What it's like to be a Substitute Cook at Preschool Locations at Substitute Cook at Preschool Locations As a Substitute Cook at The Resource Connection of Amador & Calaveras Counties, you will play a vital role in supporting the nutritional needs of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children at various center locations throughout the county. Your responsibilities will include preparing delicious homemade meals, including breakfast, lunch, and snacks, guided by our easy-to-follow preset menus. You'll receive regular training on procedures and required paperwork for our Childcare Food Program, ensuring that you're equipped for success. Shifts typically last around 5 hours in the morning, allowing you to contribute significantly to our Early Childhood Programs, which focus on fostering the growth and development of children and their families. Are you the Substitute Cook at Preschool Locations we're looking for? To excel as a Substitute Cook at The Resource Connection of Amador & Calaveras Counties, specific skills and qualifications are essential. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with at least one year of food service experience, which will help you efficiently prepare and serve meals to our young clientele. You must also possess a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. Additionally, candidates need to meet health screening requirements, including a current negative TB test, required immunizations (pertussis, measles), and a current influenza shot, as mandated by Community Care Licensing. A valid California driver's license and proof of current auto insurance are necessary for transportation between sites. Attention to detail, the ability to follow preset menus, and effective communication skills will also contribute to your success in creating a nurturing and safe environment for the children in our care.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
One year of food service experience
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Meet health screening requirements, including a current negative TB test, required immunizations (pertussis, measles), and a current influenza shot, as mandated by Community Care Licensing
Valid California driver's license
Proof of current auto insurance
