Substitute Classroom Assistant, ESC of Lake Erie West
About The Position
Dedicated School Staffing is proud to support the Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West (ESCLEW). This organization provides special education resources and support to schools and students throughout Lucas County and the surrounding communities. The ESCLEW sees their work for these schools as vitally important to the growth and development, and ultimately the success of these students, and we join them in this view. We are seeking Substitute Classroom Assistants as fill-in/daily support for students in preschool classes supported by the ESCLEW. Substitute Classroom Assistants, under direction of the classroom teacher, provides instruction and support to students with emotional, physical, behavioral challenges as a part of the special education programs for preschool classrooms. Substitute Classroom Assistants save the day by filling in for employees who are unable to complete their assignment. They will be assigned by our office on a daily or longer term basis.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required – Associate Degree or higher preferred
- Ohio Department of Education Substitute Educational Aide Permit ($25), or higher license or ability to obtain license
- Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
- Ability to restrain students over 150 lbs.
- Occasionally lift and/or move materials up to 50 lbs.
