About The Position

Westbury Christian School is seeking passionate and dedicated Christian professionals to serve as substitute classroom aides on a part-time, interim basis throughout the school year. Substitute classroom aides are responsible for providing classroom and instructional support to teachers in our primary and elementary program. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are flexible and committed to fostering a Christ-centered learning environment. Requirements

• A strong commitment to Christian values and integration of faith in the classroom.
• Affirm with full agreement of Westbury Christian School's Statement of Faith and Biblical Principles, which can be found https://www.westburychristian.org/employment .
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and student needs.
• Willing to assist with small child's toileting needs on occasion.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to move around classroom, navigating student desks and materials
• Ability to bend, stoop, and sit on floor, depending on age of children in class
• Ability to communicate clearly and audibly, including speaking and hearing
• Manual dexterity to use office equipment, manipulate books and other learning materials, and assist students with various activities
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in education or working with children is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive and respectful learning environment.
• Provide support to the classroom teacher.
• Assist students with assignments and ensure they are on task.
• Communicate any issues or concerns with school leadership as needed.
• Uphold the mission and values of Westbury Christian School while interacting with students and faculty.
• Follow the school's safety and security protocols and procedures.
