Substitute child nutrition workers with Fort Smith Public Schools are part-time positions. Typically, substitute cafeteria staff must be available to work from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (There are a few exceptions to the hours.) Substitutes for child nutrition are called, as needed, to work in one of the school cafeterias when a regular employee is absent. Substitutes may be needed daily, with no notice. Substitutes may be needed for a predetermined period of days. Substitutes may be asked to work for up to six weeks at a time. All substitutes have the right to decline a sub opportunity.
