Converse County School District #1 is searching for Substitute Bus Monitors/Paraprofessionals. Do you enjoy working with children while maintaining a flexible work schedule? We are looking for team players who are enthusiastic about supporting students and staff to improve the lives of our kids. #LifeReady LOCATION: Various locations.

Assist children in getting on the bus and to assigned seats.
Ensure all passengers are properly seated or restrained while riding on the bus.
Maintain order and behavior of children on the bus so the driver will not be distracted from safe driving.
Assist the children in getting off the bus safely.
Notify the transportation director of concerns regarding the children's health, behavior, or emotional state.
Learn the bus routes and make the substitute drivers aware of it when necessary.
Check the bus to assure there are no children remaining on the bus at the end of each route.
Remove trash and litter from the bus daily.
Assure fire extinguisher, body fluids kit, first aid kit, are properly secured in designated locations at all times.
Attend all training opportunities as provided and all staff meetings when called by the director.
Perform any other task deemed necessary by the director.

Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to maintain order on the bus while children are being transported.
Ability to establish good working relationships with children, parents, bus driver, and other staff.
Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of basic principles of early childhood development, as outlined in training.

Flexible schedule to meet individual work needs.
Automated substitute system to manage work schedule.
