About The Position

The Substitute Bus Driver position requires the transportation of Mid-Del students from grades K-12. The driver will be responsible for picking up students at specific stops and safely transporting them to school in the morning and back home in the afternoon.

Requirements

• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Must hold a minimum CDL, Class B license with all required endorsements and school bus certification.
• Must pass physical, drug testing, background felony check, and background drive check.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Responsibilities

• Obeys all traffic laws and observes all mandatory safety regulations.
• Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
• Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
• Performs proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
• Discharges students only at authorized stops.
• Reports accidents and completes required reports.
• Expected to use professional conduct at all times.
• Fulfills Board Policy to exhibit dress and appearance that is neat, clean, and orderly.
• Additional duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor or above.

Benefits

• $18.31 per hour as needed.
