About The Position

The Wenatchee School District is in need of substitute bus drivers. Becoming a substitute bus driver can be rewarding and challenging. Willingness to work with students of all ages and a positive attitude are a must. Some requirements are: CDL Class B licenses/passenger and air brake endorsement, medical examiner's certificate, and a current first aid card. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, or equivalent.
  • CDL Class B licenses/passenger and air brake endorsement.
  • Medical examiner's certificate.
  • Current first aid card.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Cleared fingerprints from Washington State Patrol and the FBI on file with OSPI.
  • Completed yearly online WSD Safeschools training.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with PBIS program.

Responsibilities

  • Transport students to and from school in a safe manner.
  • Handle bus and students in adverse conditions.
  • Abide by all state and district transportation regulations.
  • Requires prolonged sitting.
  • Must work indoors and outdoors year round.
  • Ability to relate well to students and keep order on the bus.
  • Must teach safety rules, learn children's names and work with parents and staff.
  • Must work in noisy and crowded environment.
  • Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Salary: $25.88/hr, Beginning 9/1/25 Salary: $26.53.

  • District will pay costs of certification upon successful hire and completion of CDL/Bus training program.
