About The Position

This employee will perform as a bus driver, safely transporting student from home to school to home, on field trips and perform a variety of clerical duties associated with Transportation operations.

Requirements

• general knowledge of routine maintenance requirements of buses
• ability to work independently with minimum supervisions on the job and route are learned
• be at least 18 years of age with at least six (6) months driving experience with a valid operator's license
• possess a valid driver's license
• have or obtain the required Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with "P" and "S" endorsements
• have no STOP entry appearing on driving record
• have and maintain a good driving record

Responsibilities

• maintain route schedule
• supervise students who ride the bus; maintain discipline and report undisciplined students to the principal/s
• discharge students only at authorized stops and transport only authorized students
• assist student passengers with school baggage as needed
• regulate heating and ventilating systems for passenger comfort
• comply with local traffic regulations and observe all mandatory safety regulations
• report delays or accidents
• clean the interior of the bus regularly
• inspect bus and check gas, oil, water, brakes, etc., before departure and report any needed repairs
