About The Position
The City of Sterling Heights is accepting applications for substitute drivers for the Smart Bus program operated through the Parks & Recreation Department's Senior Center! Vehicles are driven within the tri-county area. Hourly rate (with Chauffer license): $18.50, (with CDL) $21.50. Please note that the Substitute Bus Driver position does not have a regular schedule, but assists as needed.
Requirements
- Qualified candidates must possess a valid, unrestricted Commercial Driver's License (Group C) with a "P" designation or a Chauffeur License from the State of Michigan
- Must have an excellent driving record
Responsibilities
- Transport City residents over the age of 55, and individuals with disabilities, in SMART buses, mini-bus or vans.
- Assist disabled passengers by using the correct safety procedures to operate, lift, and secure wheelchairs and other assistive devices
- Drivers will also assist in shuttle driving for special events.
