About The Position

The Substitute BDAs (Bus Driver Aides) are responsible for providing supervision and assistance to students riding the bus. They are limited to working 600 hours per school year.

Requirements

• Ability to lift 40 pounds.
• Must have a valid First Aid Card.
• Must be willing and able to work patiently with and supervise special needs students.
• Must be able to work well with adults and children with disabilities.
• Strength and agility to enter and exit a bus from side emergency exit.
• Must have excellent attendance.

• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and assistance to students riding the bus.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Work effectively with special needs children.
• Assist in the safe entry and exit of students from the bus.
