About The Position

This classified hourly role will support, on an as needed basis, the Exceptional Student Services Department's existing staff and functions. The duties will vary between placements and may consist of the following: provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services for students, support other ESS employees with their daily management of students and activities, ensure safe transfer of students to and from transportation, lunch coverage, personal care needs, supporting student IEP requirements, and other needs as temporarily assigned. Substitute ASL Interpreters select placements at any FUSD site and are expected to fill each role with the greatest dedication towards student achievement and district goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language.

Responsibilities

• Provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services for students.
• Support other ESS employees with their daily management of students and activities.
• Ensure safe transfer of students to and from transportation.
• Provide lunch coverage.
• Assist with personal care needs.
• Support student IEP requirements.
• Fulfill other needs as temporarily assigned.
