Your Opportunity We have an opportunity for a summer intern who wants to contribute to a variety of energy projects in an impactful way. As an Intern, you will work in a team environment and have exposure to energy projects which may include substations, transmission and distribution line protections, transformers, capacitor banks, shunt reactors, circuit breakers, busbars, microprocessor relays design and programming, SCADA systems, fiber, and communication networks., etc. Candidates should be highly motivated and dependable students who are taking or have taken engineering design courses. This is a terrific opportunity for a college student to kick-start their career with a top 10 global design firm, gaining professional experience supporting exciting local, national, and international projects and working with industry-recognized engineering professionals.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week during summer break (flexible summer start and end dates).
  • Must be in the process of earning a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited university.
  • Completion of the sophomore year is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
  • Assisting technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data, preparing reports, and performing calculations for power delivery projects.
  • Performing simple calculations, computer data entry, along with some exposure to design and cross-training.
  • Performing research and contacting vendors for information.
  • Complete other engineering/administrative duties as required.
