Summary Our Flagstaff Substation Maintenance crew has an immediate opening for a Substation Journeyman. The work hours for this position are Monday - Friday 6:00AM - 2:30PM.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completed a Registered Electrician Apprenticeship Program or an equivalent training program (as approved by APS T&D Technical & Safety Training) PLUS one year experience as an Electrician
  • Must currently have a valid manual Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with no mechanical restrictions and ability to meet all DOT requirements
  • This position requires working with aerial equipment, which has weight restrictions of 300 lbs or less
  • Must live within reasonable distance (one (1) hour) from assigned Headquarters

Nice To Haves

  • Considerable experience performing journeyman-level high voltage substation duties with an electric utility or other entity operating and maintaining high voltage substation equipment preferred
  • Experienced in writing and executing switching orders, and basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • The ideal candidate filling this vacancy must be self-motivated, communicate and work well with others, and possess a positive attitude with the highest commitment to work safety
