About The Position

This role is a fantastic opportunity to work as an embedded resource with one of the largest Utilities in the United States. This position is responsible for performing on-site commissioning of substation protection and control systems and equipment by working with relay technicians and Engineering and Design teams.

Requirements

5+ years relevant Engineering experience within Substations and Commissioning processes
Experience and expertise with substation equipment such as instrument transformers, protective relays, relay test equipment, and SCADA RTUs preferred
High Voltage testing experience
Ability to travel up to 25%
BS in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology required

Responsibilities

Perform and supervise functional testing of protection and control systems, relays, and high-voltage equipment
Validate field installations against engineering drawings and technical specifications
Troubleshoot equipment and system issues, recommend solutions, and direct corrective actions on-site
Oversee the commissioning process, review and approve documentation and test results received
Ensure all commissioning activities follow safety standards and procedures
Diagnose and resolve equipment or system malfunctions during commissioning
Maintain detailed records of test results, configurations, and as-built drawings
Prepare commissioning reports and handover documentation
