POSITION SUMMARY Provides substance-use counseling services to participants of Beacon’s Treatment Court programs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Provides Treatment Court Screenings to determine eligibility for the program. Provides individual counseling to participants of Treatment Count experiencing substance use disorders by utilizing evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavior interventions and relapse prevention. Provides community-based counseling when appropriate. Facilitates group counseling and/or group psychoeducation. This may occur at the agency or in a community-based setting. Ensures an integrated assessment and treatment plan is completed on each participant of the treatment court program and accurately reflects the need for services. Maintains billable expectation and completes all paperwork in adherence to agency timelines. Works in collaboration with the integrated treatment team to ensure treatment plans are person centered and reflect appropriate stage-based treatment. Actively participates in weekly team meetings, providing consultation and education to team members. Liaisons with community self-help groups and facilitate referral and participation of people served. Participates in department team meetings. Completes required clinical documentation in EMR Avatar NX in accordance with agency policies and procedures. Adheres to ASAM criteria in clinical documentation including making appropriate treatment recommendations and level of care. Complete ASAM required trainings and required continuing education hours. Coordinates with family members and/ or loved ones, as appropriate, to provide education and understanding of the impact of substance use. Other duties, as assigned.
