An Introduction Since 1971, Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided the highest quality of behavioral health services to residents of the cities of Hampton and Newport News, Virginia, offering a comprehensive array of programs for both children and adults living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders. As a Substance Use Disorder Residential Counselor at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you will engage in an enriching role dedicated to supporting non-pregnant, pregnant, and postpartum women diagnosed with substance use disorders. Our comprehensive residential program provides gender-specific treatment in a secure and nurturing environment tailored to individual needs. You will adopt a holistic approach to prevention, intervention, and support, promoting the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of residents and their families. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
- One (1) year of experience working in a residential or clinical setting
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and gender-responsive treatment approaches.
- Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills with an ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Valid Driver's License
