The Substance Abuse Counselor provides treatment and support to assist clients in their recovery from addictions, such as alcoholism, drug addiction, assists with modifying problem behaviors. Responsibilities include screening clients for substance abuse issues, performing assessment, diagnostic evaluation, crisis intervention, case management, and therapeutic services for clients and families. Conducts individual and group sessions to assist with management of symptomology and coping strategies. Evaluates clients progress during Counseling and will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in achieving an optimal quality of life
