About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and hard-working individual to join our dynamic team. As a Substance Use Counselor in our outpatient program, you will play a crucial role in supporting and providing direct services to clients struggling with substance use disorder. This position requires strong communication skills and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Since 1966, Zumbro Valley Health Center has been serving our community as a non-profit organization. We serve the twelve-county region of Southeast MN and have over 240 employees. We are one of the few providers in the state, to provide such an integrative and comprehensive care to all children, adults, and families. In order to provide an integrative approach, we offer a wide variety of services including Outpatient Psychotherapy and Substance Use, Inpatient Residential Treatment, Withdrawal Management and Detoxification, Housing, Skills – Based Training and Targeted Case Management for adults and children, and more.

Pay: $61,380 - $75,200 per year. Compensation is based on years of experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a Social Service field or 4 years' experience in the field if licensed prior to the licensing bachelor's degree requirement.
• Active Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) in the State of MN.
• Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention services to clients in immediate distress.
• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify clients' needs and goals.
• Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual's recovery journey.
• Maintain detailed and timely documentation using our electronic health record system.
• Lead individual and group counseling sessions using evidence-based approaches.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team within and outside of Zumbro Valley Health Center.
• Provide referrals and coordination of care based on the client's specific needs.
• Offer education and support to clients’ families, fostering understanding and healing.
