Requirements

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree (non-licensed) in a human services field, and/or certified/credentialed to provide services within scope of practice.
  • Hold credentials as a Qualified Addiction Professional as defined by the Missouri Credentialing Board, Inc. (MCB) or Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC) / Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (LCAC) as defined by the Kansas Behavioral Science Regulatory Board (BSRB).
  • Individuals must be willing to become credentialed in additional states and provide telehealth services.
  • Current driver’s license in state of residency, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • First Aid and CPR certification within three (3) months of beginning employment.
  • Completion of required training and background checks as specified.

Responsibilities

  • Complete intake, screening, and assessment processes within designated time frames.
  • Develop and individualize treatment plans based on assessment information.
  • Document all services provided in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate group counseling, education, and individual sessions focused on substance use recovery.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, referral sources, and coworkers.
  • Handle crisis situations effectively as they arise.
  • Participate in clinical staffing and treatment team meetings, providing feedback on cases.
  • Assist clients through the transition process and complete necessary correspondence.
