About The Position

The Substance Use Counselor will provide essential support to patients undergoing treatment for opioid addiction. This role involves conducting individual and group counseling sessions, evaluating patient progress, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. The counselor will also manage case documentation to comply with regulatory standards and serve as a liaison for patients within the treatment program.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed in the State of Nebraska for substance abuse counseling.
  • The applicant must be either provisionally licensed addiction counselor (PLADC) or licensed addiction counselor (LADC).
  • Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Provides counseling and case management services to patients in a substance abuse treatment program.
  • Keeps accurate records to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
  • Acts as patients' liaison with the entire program.
  • Conducts individual and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies.
  • Evaluates patients' progress during counseling and collaborates with doctors, nurses, and other counselors.
