Substance Abuse Counselor
About The Position
All Care Wellness is seeking a licensed or certified alcohol and drug counselor (LADC or CADAC) for our New Bedford clinic. Currently we have openings for both Full Time and Part Time positions. The ideal candidate will have experience conducting intakes and assessments, group therapy, individual therapy, aftercare, and a minimum of 2 years work experience in the chemical dependency field. In order to succeed in our fast-paced environment, the candidate will be motivated and a self-starter. Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, our counselors are ultimately responsible for providing individual and group therapy to patients suffering from substance abuse disorder.
Requirements
- Licensed or certified alcohol and drug counselor (LADC or CADAC)
- Experience conducting intakes and assessments, group therapy, individual therapy, aftercare
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in the chemical dependency field
- Motivated and a self-starter
Responsibilities
- Utilize various therapeutic models and theories to understand and plan intervention strategies for patients
- Complete screening, intakes, assessments, treatment plans and discharge summary as needed throughout course of patient care
- Monitor patient progress and properly maintain patient records in our electronic medical record system
- Collaborate with other community agencies as necessary for optimal patient care
- Attend monthly multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss progress and/or barriers to patient care
