About The Position

Outreach is seeking a qualified candidate for the Part Time Primary Counselor position in our Outpatient Program located in Bellport, Long Island. The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for the delivery and implementation of supervision, support and clinical services to a population of chemically dependent clients with co-occurring and mental health problems.

Requirements

• CASAC-T, CASAC, LMSW, LMHC OR LMFT
• 2-3 years of experience within the behavioral health or substance abuse disorder field
• Action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach to program planning.
• Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to work one of the required shifts

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years of experience working in in an OASAS funded facility a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide various outpatient mental health services with the goal of patient recovery.
• Conduct intakes and monitor individual, group, and family therapies.
• Develop service plans and conduct reviews as needed throughout the duration of treatment.
• Provide mental health assessments, counseling, referrals, and intervention services.
• Complete and maintain documentation according to federal and state guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
