Our mission is to empower individuals to overcome addiction and lead fulfilling lives through personalized counseling, education, and community outreach programs. Job Description: We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team on a full-time basis. We offer flexible work/life schedule. The Substance Abuse Counselor will play a crucial role in providing substance abuse counseling services to individuals affected by substance abuse, facilitating group sessions, and implementing evidence-based treatment interventions. This position requires a compassionate individual with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to supporting individuals on their journey to recovery.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Social Work or related field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC-IT, SAC or CSAC) credentials through the state of WI.
- 1 year of experience in counseling.
- 1 year of experience working with correctional/AODA clients.
- Demonstrated ability working with individuals from diverse backgrounds; culturally competent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and internet.
- Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of all agency information.
- Ability to interact with staff, clients, and agents in an effective manner while maintaining professional boundaries.

Responsibilities
- Develop treatment plans based on each client's individual needs.
- Complete and maintain accurate records of progress, services provided, treatment plan, and other required information.
- Counsel clients in group sessions, using the approved curriculum provided.
- Conduct orientation intake sessions of individuals referred to the program.
- Evaluate client participation by monitoring behavior, attitude, and progress.
