The Addictions Counselor provides direct patient care under the supervision of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH). Essential Functions: Responsible for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) group facilitation. Co-facilitates psychoeducational intervention and psychotherapy groups, participating in family meetings and treatment team meetings. Offers patient/family support by providing advice, tools, and community resources. Collects drug tests and assists with treatment planning and diagnostic assessments. Administers SUD screenings, SUD discharge planning, and delivers the Columbia-Suicide Rating Scale (C-SSRS). Participates in continued education and in-service training.
