We support the Job Corps program’s mission to teach eligible young people the skills they need to become employable and independent and place them in meaningful jobs or further education. Our center specializes in Culinary Arts, Welding, Electronics Engineering, and Certified Medical Assistant training. EMPLOYMENT AT EXETER JOB CORPS Employment at Exeter Job Corps is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, employment verification, education verification, professional reference check and motor vehicle record check. Here is the available schedule for this role: 20 hours per week - days and hours to be determined Salary: $25.72/hr This position is responsible for developing and facilitating the Center’s alcohol, drug and tobacco prevention program for students age 16-24. Educates and counsels students to reduce and prevent drug-related separations from the program. Develops individualized case management plans to enhance student retention and success. Ensures confidentiality of sensitive information and compliance with all HIPAA laws.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Active, unrestricted substance abuse license or certification that meets minimum state licensing or certification requirements to practice in RI
Nice To Haves
- associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- A minimum of one-year experience in drug/alcohol counseling or related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements alcohol, drug and tobacco prevention activities and integrates services into Center’s programmatic functions
- Develops and coordinates community resources for educating students on substance use and abuse
- Administers Center’s drug testing program to promote a drug-free environment
- Responsible to provide students with comprehensive and individualized case management ensuring student progress, retention and completion of the Job Corps program. Establishes supportive/mentoring relationships with students throughout their enrollment and provides substance abuse counseling and education
- Counsels students individually and in groups on substance abuse
- Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner
- Assists Wellness team with student intakes, including urine collection
- Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager to include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions
- Other duties as assigned.
