About The Position

The Substance Abuse Counselor at Crossroads Treatment Centers plays a crucial role in providing evidence-based medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for patients with opioid use disorder. This position involves individual counseling, clinical assessments, and the development of personalized treatment plans to support patients on their recovery journey. The counselor will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and compliance with treatment requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field.
• General experience working with underserved populations in a clinical setting.
• Certified/licensed in addiction counseling in the state of SC is preferred.
• Willingness to obtain certification in SC.

Nice To Haves

• Lived addiction experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual counseling to highly complex patients.
• Conducts clinical assessments to appropriately assess patient's treatment needs.
• Designs and updates the patient's treatment plan, including care coordination, referrals, and discharge planning.
• Manages assigned caseload and compliance with clinical treatment requirements.
• Collaborates with nurses and providers to provide holistic treatment services.
• Facilitates urine drug screening for patients.
