Subrogation Adjusters are responsible for the negotiation and recovery efforts of third-party property-casualty claims. The adjuster will enter direct negotiations with insurance carriers, contractors, plaintiff and defense attorneys, self-insureds, uninsured, and municipalities. Claims handled are complex and require a strong understanding of theories of liability and recovery practices and activities.

  • Negotiate and recover third-party property-casualty claims.
  • Enter direct negotiations with insurance carriers, contractors, and attorneys.
  • Handle complex claims requiring understanding of liability and recovery practices.
  • Research, document, and recap coverage and loss information.
  • Communicate over the phone to ensure understanding of reports and documents.
  • Evaluate losses to determine potential total losses using established procedures.
  • Interpret statutes and case laws to build strong cases for coverage and liability.
  • File subrogation claims in Arbitration Forums with persuasive arguments.
  • Provide prompt, friendly, courteous, accurate, and helpful service regarding claims.
  • Contact customers, insureds, claimants, attorneys, or others to obtain or clarify information.
  • Effectively follow appropriate processes for assignment of claims to adjusters.
  • Perform other various duties as assigned.
  • 4-year bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years handling personal auto claims, exhibiting property-casualty or subrogation experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to assess and negotiate liability and damages.
  • Proficient use of MS Office applications and PDF documents.
  • Decisive and organized with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to occasional high-pressure situations.
  • Familiarity with claims-handling procedures.
