About The Position

The Subrogation Adjuster is responsible for negotiating and recovering third-party property-casualty claims. This role involves direct negotiations with various stakeholders, including insurance carriers, attorneys, and municipalities, and requires a strong understanding of liability theories and recovery practices.

Requirements

• 4-year bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years handling personal auto claims, with property-casualty or subrogation experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to assess and negotiate liability and damages.
• Proficient use of MS Office applications and PDF documents.
• Decisive and organized, with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to occasional high-pressure situations.
• Familiarity with claims-handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Researches, documents, and recaps coverage and loss information, including complex calls.
• Communicates over the phone to ensure understanding of reports and documents.
• Evaluates losses to determine potential total losses using established procedures.
• Interprets statutes and case laws to build strong cases for coverage and liability.
• Files subrogation claims in Arbitration Forums with persuasive arguments.
• Provides prompt, friendly, courteous, accurate, and helpful service regarding claims.
• Follows appropriate processes for assignment of claims to adjusters.
• Contacts customers, insureds, claimants, attorneys, or others to obtain or clarify information.
• Performs other various duties as assigned.
