The Subrogation Examiner plays a crucial role in the financial operations of Elevance Health, specifically within the Carelon Subrogation division. This position is primarily responsible for researching and examining routine health claims that may involve Third Party Liability, Workers' Compensation, and other subrogation or reimbursement recovery cases. The ideal candidate will work virtually but should reside within 50 miles of one of the designated Elevance Health PulsePoint locations, including Indianapolis, IN, Waukesha, WI, or Louisville, KY. In this role, the Subrogation Examiner will initiate calls to various stakeholders, including insurance companies, attorneys, and members, to assess the potential for reimbursement from other parties. This involves responding to inquiries about injury claims and utilizing various research methods and vendor systems to gather necessary information. The examiner will collaborate with subrogation staff, other departments, and external clients to facilitate the recovery process, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately documented and communicated. Additionally, the Subrogation Examiner will review diagnostic and procedure codes to determine the relevance of claims to each case and will assist with small-scale special projects as needed. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication skills to navigate the complexities of health claims and reimbursement processes.
