Subject Matter Experts (AUSME) Development Team - Student Developer & Data Analyst
About The Position
Supports the AUSME development team by assisting with programming tasks, data analysis, and system improvements. Responsibilities include implementing new features in Python, managing MySQL databases, working with server-side components, version control (GitHub), and handling data analytics tasks such as dataset management, data quality checks, and performance reporting. Requirements
- Currently enrolled Auburn University student
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in Python (ability to write scripts, handle data, and work with APIs).
- Familiarity with MySQL or other relational databases.
- Experience with GitHub or other version control tools.
- Understanding of server-side scripting or willingness to learn.
- Experience or interest in data analytics
- Experience with Google Analytics (preferred but not required).
- Highly attentive to detail.
- Curiosity, creativity, and willingness to learn new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of new AUSME system features using Python.
- Work with MySQL to query, update, and maintain AUSME datasets.
- Support server-side scripts, data pipelines, and backend processes.
- Use GitHub for version control, issue tracking, and collaboration.
- Perform data analytics tasks including dataset validation, data cleaning, data visualization, and generating usage or performance reports.
- Analyze Google Analytics and other system metrics to support decision-making.
- Help review and curate AUSME data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with the AUSME development team to troubleshoot bugs, test new features, and ensure smooth system operation.
