About The Position

Graham Technologies is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine to serve our customers. The SME will advise on blood typing, cross-matching, compatibility testing, blood product comparability, and regulatory compliance under FDA, AABB, and DoD standards. The Consultant SME will support blood comparability assessments, evaluate domestic and international blood supply chain capabilities, validate technical aspects of operational reporting, and provide expert guidance to ensure the integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance of blood program initiatives supporting military readiness. Location: Falls Church, VA

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government background investigation in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Biology, Medical Technology, Chemistry, Hematology, or related scientific field. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Minimum three (3) years in clinical laboratory science.
  • Experience in blood banking and transfusion medicine regulations.
  • Experience supporting DoD military and/or civilian customers.
  • Expertise in transfusion medicine principles.
  • Knowledge of compatibility testing and blood product standards.
  • Understanding of global blood supply chain systems.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Advisory Provide expert guidance on blood typing, crossmatching, and compatibility testing.
  • Assess the comparability of blood products across domestic and international environments.
  • Evaluate blood supply chain capabilities, including collection, processing, storage, and distribution.
  • Regulatory Compliance Interpret and apply FDA, AABB, and DoD blood banking regulations.
  • Identify regulatory risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Operational Assessment Support the development of the Blood Comparability Assessment methodology.
  • Review blood program operational data for clinical accuracy.
  • Validate technical aspects of ROI and process improvement initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Interface with DoD medical leadership and laboratory personnel.
  • Provide written technical reports and executive briefings.
