As a Subject Matter Expert - Systems Engineer at Parsons, you will play a crucial role interacting with our customers to develop requirements for CUAS solutions and then developing, integrating and delivering those systems. This position requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, a collaborative mindset and the ability to complete assignments with limited supervision. In-office candidates in the Northern Virginia / West Virginia area are preferred, but remote options are also available for well qualified self-starting candidates.

Requirements

  • Previous experience either work for CBP managing the integration, fielding, and/or sustainment of electronic surveillance systems on the southern border --- OR --- Experience supporting the fielding of complex electronic systems on USCG vessels as a member of a civilian/defense contractors’ technical staff
  • Must have an active Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and at least 11 years of relevant experience
  • At least 6 years of direct specialized experience in this area
  • Experience in designing, testing, debugging and documenting complex hardware and software systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Substantial USCG systems integration and/or Systems Engineering domain expertise.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a STEM field
  • Systems Engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following disciplines: CUAS, Electronic Warfare(EW), Command & Control (C2), Radars, EOIR/Cameras and/or Communications Electronics.
  • Previous service with the USCG, US Navy, Merchant Marines, etc.
  • Ability to work locally full time or hybrid in our Summit Point, WV CUAS Integration and Test Facility (1 hour out side DC / Northern Virginia).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites (and Parsons’ CUAS Integration Facility if a remote employee).
  • Ability to mentor peers and share domain expertise effectively.
  • Familiarity with Java software development
  • Experience with Atlassian Products & GIT
  • Experience with Docker, Swing, React
  • Expertise in with AI/ML algorithm development and training.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting with our CBP customers and potential customer in particular as well as potential support to other customers in the DoW, greater DHS organization, DoS, federal and local law enforcement, and civilian agencies to determine their CUAS requirements and help guide them to CUAS system configurations optimized for their needs.
  • Leading the CUAS team in designing, integrating, testing, and fielding CUAS solutions to the southern border environment.
  • Providing the team domain expertise on the IT, power, and operational infrastructure that exists on the southern border.
  • Ensuring the team adheres to all CBP preferred design best practices and prepares appropriately for all test events.
  • Liaising with customer representatives, stakeholders, peer contractors, etc. to ensure transparent and effective technical and programmatic communication with our CBP customers.
  • Helping the team to define and prioritize and implement new features and capabilities in our DroneArmor C2 Software Product line based on customer feedback and strategic planning.
  • Plan for and execute participation in various customer and internal marketing demonstrations, exercises and CUAS test events.
  • Support the team’s Training, Sustainment and Support activities for systems fielded with the US Coast Guard.
