As a Subcontracts Cost Analyst for Moog Space & Defense Group, you will serve as an individual contributor responsible for analyzing the prices and costs proposed by suppliers on large, complex government or defense contracts. Working under limited supervision, you will apply advanced financial and analytical expertise to shape competitive pricing approaches, support complex proposals, and influence strategic business decisions. This position can be located onsite with a hybrid work schedule in East Aurora, NY, Niagara Falls, NY, Salt Lake City, UT or can be fully remote. This role requires strong analytical capability, deep understanding of financial and accounting principles, and an ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams both inside and outside the immediate function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in pricing, financial analysis, cost accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information
  • Deep understanding of financial concepts, cost structures, and pricing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative, data-driven solutions.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple business areas.
  • Experience with government/DoD pricing or FAR/DFARS compliance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with general accounting practices, proposal methodology and estimating techniques
  • Experience with Truthful Cost or Pricing Data Act (commonly referred to as TINA)
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Acquisition Regulation System (DFARS), Contractor Purchasing System Requirements (CPSR) Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and processes affecting procurement and contractual functions
  • Experience with supplier negotiations and/or customer negotiations

Responsibilities

  • Carry out broad and complex assignments in the analysis of complex high dollar cost proposals
  • Conduct price analysis of supplier's quoted or proposed pricing using techniques established by FAR, DFARS or other applicable internal or government policies.
  • Perform cost analysis of supplier's quoted or proposed pricing including:
  • Assess subcontractor cost or pricing data for adequacy in accordance with FAR Part 15
  • Perform In-depth review of the supplier's supporting data for each of the cost elements that make up the subcontractor’s proposed price
  • Conduct fact finding to gain a thorough understanding of the suppliers' cost proposals as well as collect and review supporting data
  • When necessary, perform rate reviews at supplier facilities in the development of the proposed direct and indirect rates
  • Prepare written supplier Price/Cost Analysis Reports (PCARs) detailing the suppliers' price/cost proposal as required by FAR Part 15
  • Prepares briefings summarizing supplier proposed prices vs. negotiation objectives as necessary
  • Support negotiations with suppliers, including, as necessary conducting price negotiations in coordination with Buyers
  • Develop and maintain learning curve cost/should-cost estimating models that can be used as a price analysis tool in support of historical cost comparisons
  • Supports DCAA, DCMA, and customer audits and reviews as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with team members and internal customers, supplier representatives, and DCAA/DCMA and external customer auditors and reviewers
