About The Position
The Subcontract Administrator III position at Amentum is a critical role responsible for overseeing all phases of subcontract administration, from acquisition planning to closeout. This mid/senior level position requires a solid understanding of government subcontracting and the ability to work independently with minimal instruction. The successful candidate will be solution-oriented, contribute meaningfully to team and organizational goals, and demonstrate excellent judgment and business acumen. Collaboration with stakeholders and other departments is essential, as is the ability to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies. The role also involves supporting special projects as needed. In this position, the Subcontract Administrator will coordinate, develop, and produce various subcontract documentation, including subcontracts, agreements, modification task/delivery orders, and solicitations. The administrator will also be responsible for procurement documentation, such as acquisition plans and evaluation criteria, and will select the appropriate subcontract or purchase order type based on the prime contract and program needs. Evaluating proposals and quotations, conducting negotiations, and maintaining subcontract files are key responsibilities. The administrator will also ensure compliance with government policies and procedures, including CPSR, FAR/DFARS, and Amentum policies. The role requires the administrator to monitor subcontractor deliverables, process purchase requisitions, and conduct training for technical and subcontract staff. Additionally, the administrator will coordinate with accounting and finance departments regarding invoicing and payments, job cost management, and the closeout process. The position demands a proactive approach to managing subcontract requirements, monitoring cost status, and resolving issues with customers. The Subcontract Administrator will also interface with subcontractors and service providers, participate in cross-functional collaboration, and monitor small business goals on assigned subcontracts. Overall, this position is vital for ensuring effective subcontract management and compliance within Amentum's operations.
