About The Position

The Therapeutic Learning Center Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an instructional program for students in a self-contained classroom that are identified with emotional and behavior struggles that affect their learning, and to enable them to achieve their maximum potential.

Responsibilities

Develop innovative, engaging, and effective weekly lesson plans that contain all of the required components.
Facilitate IEP meetings, progress meetings, etc. for students on your caseload. Ensure full implementation of each student's IEP.
Deliver instruction utilizing appropriate resources, equipment, materials, technology and instructional strategies.
Provide differentiated instruction based on the student's individual level of functioning and preferred learning modalities.
Provide a positive role model of appropriate and respectful interactions with students and staff.
Foster behavior support strategies program wide and in the classroom. Develop and implement, and review clear and concise program & classroom rules, routines, procedures, and expectations.
Maintain constant and ongoing communication regarding students and all facets of the program.
Collaborate with support staff to incorporate student learning strategies for reaching, communication, etc.
Work collaboratively with social worker and program staff to support student's social-emotional learning needs
Follow the appropriate chain of command when questions, issues, and/or concerns arise.
Accurately complete all required paperwork within the designated timelines.
