About The Position

Success Education Colleges (SEC) is a family of institutions comprised of North-West College, Glendale Career College, Nevada Career Institute and Marsha Fuerst School of Nursing. SEC is a leader in allied health education and has been offering quality and affordable health care training programs for over 58 years. Our everyday mission is to educate students in short-term and professional programs for gainful employment and career advancement. We are seeking per diem faculty instructors to support our allied health programs. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about education and want flexible opportunities to teach and mentor students. Instructors will be contacted as needed for coverage, with opportunities to pick up hours remotely or at our Pomona campus.

Requirements

• 3 years' total experience in the field (Must have experience within 5 recent years).
• MA Certification
• High School Diploma

Responsibilities

• Teaches and implements the total curriculum, as assigned by, and under the direction and supervision of your direct supervisor.
• Plans and assigns student activities in the classroom and/or clinical settings.
• Identifies individual and collective learning needs of assigned students, being cognizant of the physical, mental and emotional status of the learners.
• Maintains records of student progress and performance, attendance and grades.
• Prepares, administers, and grades written and practical examinations during course of study.
• Devises written lesson plans and implements them through lecture, demonstration, discussion, etc.
• Discusses with students their concerns and/or problems directly or indirectly related to learning experience.
• Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with Program Director or her designee.
• Assists the student to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.
• Participates in the selection and preparation of instructional materials.
• Provides a professional role model for students.
• Oversees and facilitates laboratory sessions for students in the lab, providing hands-on instruction and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
