The Sub Coordinator and Administrative Assistant to Assistant Principals will provide the efficient and timely scheduling of qualified substitute teachers on a daily basis. This role works closely with the Assistant Principals, all departments and Department Chairs, and other building staff, and students to meet the needs of students, staff, and the community. As a Sub Coordinator, you will greet and orient substitutes daily, organize the substitute within the work day, maintain accurate absence, work schedule and pay records. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, exercise initiative and independent judgment, and keep informed of procedures and requirements.

  • Actively works independently and collaboratively to schedule substitute teachers daily to fill coverage for teacher absence
  • Works collaboratively to provide administrative support to the Assistant Principals
  • Uses Red Rover substitute scheduling software to schedule substitute teachers
  • Maintains a pool of qualified substitute teachers
  • Provides emergency support and solutions to complicated requests
  • Trains staff on following substitute processes and use Red Rover software
  • Actively communicates with departments and staff to provide excellent substitute coverage
  • Actively listen and consider how to improve the substitute employee process
  • Stay current in laws and guidelines concerning substitute teacher licensure and employment status
  • Monitor budget accounts and process P-card statements
  • Manage calendars and schedule meetings
  • Compiles data and creates reports as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • 2 years of experience in an educational setting, preferred
  • 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant, expected/preferred
  • Experience substitute scheduling and automated substitute systems (Red Rover preferred)
  • Possess outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • Works independently and access supports as needed
  • Works with others in a positive manner
  • Possess common sense, problem-solving skills and reasoning ability to appropriately deal with complex situations as they arise
  • Actively builds and maintains relationships with colleagues that supports a cooperative work environment
  • Must handle and maintain the confidentiality of employee, student and other sensitive District information
