What We Do Support faculty members in the preparation, review, and submission of research proposals. Interpret and effectively communicate sponsor guidelines to ensure compliance with all requirements. Budget preparation and compliance verification with sponsor regulations and Texas A&M University System Member policies. Coordinate and compile proposal materials in collaboration with internal and external collaborators. Ensure accurate final proposal preparation, review and submission while adhering to strict deadlines. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in university setting, business or legal operations, or research experience.
  • Experience in sponsored research projects management or contract negotiation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for subaward negotiations with external institutions and organizations.
  • Coordinate with principal investigators, departmental staff, SRS Proposal and Post Award Administrators, and leadership to obtain required documentation to complete the subaward templates and resolve subaward-related issues.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on subaward matters.
  • Review prime award terms and conditions to determine appropriate flow-down requirements for subawards.
  • Gathering data and entering data into Office of General Counsel-approved templates and FDP subaward templates.
  • Review and verify adherence to guidelines and standards in subaward documentation.
  • Works with senior negotiators or supervisors to resolve issues related to subawards, compliance, and non-standard term requests.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, federal and state regulations, TAMU System policies, and sponsor requirements.
  • Monitor subrecipient compliance and risk, including financial and programmatic performance.
  • Coordinate with Texas A&M University Compliance Offices to ensure subawardee compliance protocols are approved.
  • Work with the Office of General Counsel and other TAMU System entities on complex or high-risk subawards.
  • Enter and update data in award management systems.
  • Maintains and ensures that all records are updated regularly and that documentation represents the current status of each subaward in negotiation databases.
  • Ensures that all subawards are processed in a timely fashion and that all parties to the subaward are kept apprised of the status.
