About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is seeking a Sub-Assembly worker for the 2nd Shift, with hours from 3:30pm-12:00am and an hourly rate of $19.47 plus a $1.00 shift differential. This role involves performing minor assembly processes such as rotor/shaft, pressure plates, and shaft seal assembly according to work orders and lean line operations. Key responsibilities include the creation, production, and attachment of production and R.E.O. nameplates using designated equipment, as well as lock wiring units to customer and print specifications, including re-checking fastener torque. The position also entails visually inspecting and completing final unit pre-shipment operations like installing drive shafts, o-rings, caps, plugs, and tamper seals. Masking off and painting parts and units according to blueprints and customer requirements is also a duty. The Sub-Assembly worker is responsible for completing all required quality and customer information on reports and documents, performing self-inspection, and verifying work on assembly and test documentation. This includes reading and completing various paperwork such as inspection ledgers, check sheets, operation sheets, move tickets, and discrepancy reports to comply with Quality Systems. The role requires notifying supervisors of non-conforming work from previous operators, performing 5S/TPM tasks, and properly using tools and gages to ensure work meets specifications. Additional subassembly operations include installing pins, plugs, inserts, bearings, and miscellaneous components, along with minor sanding, lapping, deburr, or repair work. Compliance with the Manufacturing Self-Release Process (MSRP) and ensuring product quality for the next operation are also critical aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of two (2) years general manufacturing or military experience required.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
  • Only candidates residing within 100 miles of Eaton’s Jackson, MS facility will be considered for this position.

  • Remain subject to ongoing drug and/or alcohol testing, including random testing, in accordance with federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for minor assembly processes, such as rotor/shaft assembly, pressure plates assembly, and shaft seal assembly, as required by work orders and/or lean line operations.
  • Responsible for the creation, production, and attachment of all production and R.E.O. nameplates in accordance with the requirements designated on the case history and/or the Sales Order Addendum.
  • The production of nameplates shall be accomplished using all of the designated processes and equipment located in the area.
  • Responsible for lock wiring all units in accordance with all specifications defined by the customer, by prints, and by case histories.
  • The individual shall also be responsible for physically re-checking and validating all fastener torque requirements as required.
  • Responsible for visually inspecting and completing final unit pre-shipment operations such as installation of drive shafts, o-rings, caps, plugs, placement of lock wire "tamper seals", etc.
  • Responsible for masking off and painting parts and units while following blueprints and special paint processes according to customer requirements and specifications.
  • Completes all required quality and customer information on reports and documents.
  • Responsible for self-inspection and verification of same on all required assembly and test documentation.
  • Read and complete inspection ledger, inspection check sheet, operation sheet, move ticket and discrepancy report (DR) and other paperwork as necessary to comply with Quality Systems.
  • Responsible for notifying supervisors when work received does not meet the specifications required by previous operators including paperwork requirements as observable.
  • Performs operator defined 5S/TPM tasks as required.
  • Proper use of all tools and gages necessary to complete and to verify that all work performed has been completed to specifications as required.
  • Subassembly operations such as, installation of pins, plugs, inserts, bearings, miscellaneous components, etc.
  • Performs minor sanding, lapping, deburr or repair work as required in the course of performing the primary duties of the classification.
  • Compliance to Manufacturing Self-Release Process (MSRP) and responsible for the quality of the product going to next operation.
