Requirements

  • B.A. in Music Production and Engineering or a related music technology field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a commercial recording facility.
  • Proficiency with DAWs like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Ableton Live.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital consoles (Neve, SSL, API).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Experience in higher education or online education settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person, remote, and on-call technical support for a wide range of specialized audio equipment, music technology software, and audiovisual systems.
  • Assist faculty and students during classes, recording sessions, events, and ensemble performances, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal studio operation.
  • Monitor and test systems proactively; troubleshoot and escalate technical issues to appropriate teams.
  • Collaborate on technology upgrades and new installations, including semesterly project work to improve facilities.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of 50 student Studio Assistants, ensuring adherence to policies and quality service delivery.
  • Manage equipment check-outs, maintain accurate usage records, and audit security logs to protect valuable resources.
  • Coordinate scheduling with the Booking Office and facilitate orientation sessions to onboard new users.
