In addition to acting as a think tank, incubation lab, and manager of venture funds, the organization manages all of Bill’s communication channels including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, Instagram, and The Gates Notes – Bill’s personal website.
These channels amplify Bill’s voice to hundreds of millions of people, increase his impact with specific audiences, and bring the story of Bill and his work to life in compelling ways.
Through Gates Ventures, the Gates Foundation, Breakthrough Energy, and other organizations, Bill is on multiple missions: saving lives in the developing world, reducing extreme poverty, finding cures for diseases like Alzheimer’s, improving global health, advancing education, and delivering carbon-free energy.
The stories told on Bill’s channels not only tell the story of Bill’s work, they aim to connect with diverse audiences, including the general public, policymakers, and media, and to shape perceptions of Bill’s vision, innovation, and effectiveness.

The Studio Manager supports the Senior Director of Production by coordinating video shoots, managing assets, creating call sheets and other supporting documents, creating schedules, archiving assets, and supporting onsite at video shoots to ensure everything runs smoothly.
This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, a strong sense of initiative, and a positive attitude. The person in this role must be a self-starter who also takes direction well and follows strict standards for process and production.

Requirements

• Passion for Bill’s missions and deep interest in topics covered on Gates Notes.
• 3- 5 years of experience in film or content production.
• Proven ability to support world-class content.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Skilled collaborator who brings enthusiasm to every project.
• Clear communicator, both verbally and in writing.
• Flexible and adaptable, comfortable with shifting priorities and high-visibility projects.
• A high degree of integrity, curiosity, and energy.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Director of Production by coordinating teams, timelines, logistics, and onsite execution for video shoots, thereby ensuring smooth delivery from pre-production through wrap.
• Anticipate production needs, flag risks early, and support multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to shifting priorities and timelines.
• Develop and maintain briefing documents, call sheets, schedules, templates, and production materials that align internal stakeholders and creative partners ahead of filming.
• Provide hands-on production support, including prop procurement, shipping, printing, errands, and onsite problem-solving to keep shoots running efficiently.
• Mange files and assets between production, creative, post-production, archive, and external partners to ensure clarity, alignment, and smooth handoffs.
• Evangelize and enforce file naming conventions and folder structures, maintaining production assets are consistently labeled, organized, and production ready.
• Coordinate with the Senior Content Producer and Gates Archive to ensure all photo and video assets are properly sourced, attributed, archived, and easily retrievable.
• Act as a “digital librarian” by sourcing, organizing, and distributing internal photo and video assets from past studio shoots, as well as sourcing, distributing, and tracking stock assets for edit teams.
