About The Position

The Studio Art Manager will provide hands-on technical and managerial support for Fairfield University's Studio Art program. This includes routine cleaning and organizing of five art studios (Sculpture, Drawing, Painting, Darkroom, Print Studio), a digital print lab, and two art galleries, ensuring they are in operable condition. The manager will also provide specialized studio/laboratory technical services and assistance to faculty and students, prepare art studios and labs for class sessions, troubleshoot equipment, and provide access to spaces and equipment throughout the work week as needed. Additionally, the manager will inventory and order supplies regularly, ensure University safety procedures are in place, and represent the Studio Art Department at bi-monthly University Safety Meetings. The role also involves supporting the art galleries and hallway exhibition spaces, overseeing the Digital Print lab, managing the budget, and hiring, managing, and training student workers.
