About The Position

The Tutoring Center is hiring students for individual and/or group tutoring in various subject areas. Tutors must have earned a B+ or higher in the courses they tutor. The subjects include Art and Design, Communication & Theatre, English (except 010 or 100), History, Latino/a Studies, Mathematics (for students registered with the Office of Learning Services), Social Work, Wellness & Sport Sciences, and Women's and Gender Studies. Tutors will work up to 20 hours per week with flexible days and hours.

Requirements

• Earned a B+ or higher in the courses they tutor.
• Must complete the three required clearances: PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprint.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience is not required.
• After successfully completing 10 hours of tutoring, tutors can attend Tutor Training Level 1 and Level 2, which are paid and lead to an hourly wage increase.

Responsibilities

• Contacting individual tutees and arranging sessions.
• Maintaining records for group tutoring sessions.
• Preparing for tutoring sessions.
• Promptly reporting hours, tutee attendance and other information as needed via email to the Tutoring Center and Learning Services.
