About The Position
Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Student Worker - STEM Research Laboratory Technician in the Department of Physical and Life Sciences. The student worker will conduct moderate to advanced research in the fields of chemistry, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, or ecology. This position requires prior research experience and technical skills to be able to perform complex lab experiments independently. Additionally, the lab technician will take on a leadership role in the laboratory, training other students on the use of equipment and common laboratory practices. Finally, the lab technician is also required to have rigorous safety training to be able to work with hazardous materials, monitor laboratory work, including the activities of staff and student researchers to ensure compliance with lab safety and maintain a clean working area.
