About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno's Department of Chemistry is seeking a part-time Student Worker to serve as a Social Media Coordinator. The coordinator will be responsible for managing the department's social media presence, creating engaging content, and assisting with online outreach and promotion.

Responsibilities

• Work with faculty and administrative staff to create and implement updates to the Department website and individual faculty pages.
• Create and manage the Department of Chemistry's Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social media accounts.
• Open accounts, as necessary, with current social media platforms.
• Update feeds with recent events, department news, and happenings within the department.
• Respond to DMs and comments promptly and appropriately and share with supervisor as needed.
• Reshare reoccurring/ future events or posts from the Chemistry Department.
• Create engaging blog and social media content.
• Oversee the design and graphics of marketing materials including the creation of email campaigns and social media content.
• Create a social media calendar with events, ideas, campaigns, long-term projects, etc.
• Strategize content creation during and following events.
