About The Position

The intramural sports official position is responsible for officiating intramural league and tournament games. The intramural sports staff provides excellent customer service to participants in the intramural sports program and aids in delivering an enjoyable, inclusive experience for the Mount Community.

Responsibilities

• Available to work most weeknights and occasional weekends.
• Possess a passion for working with people and sports.
• Have excellent communication skills while being able to work with a wide variety of personalities.
• Officiate a variety of intramural sports including basketball, flag football, soccer, volleyball, and assist with other sports/events as needed.
• Ensure participation safety by having a strong knowledge of rules, policies and procedures as well as proper field set up and game management.
• Provide exceptional customer service to participants by having strong communication while also interacting with players in a respectful, cooperative manner.
• Attend Intramural Sports Official training meetings, practice scrimmages, and clinic(s).
• Serve as a positive ambassador for intramural sports, fostering inclusivity and attracting new participants.
• Support the set-up and clean-up for intramural games as needed
• Assist in marketing for the Intramural Leagues and tournaments.
• Must be certified in First Aid/CPR/AED or be willing to acquire that certification.
• Must be able to handle conflict in a professional way.
